The highly respected Sydney Classical Guitar Society kick off the Guitar Fest with their Classical Guitar Showcase event.  The Church, Darling Street, Balmain is the venue with the showcase primed to start at 1pm on the Monday of the long weekend.

At the skinny end of the Guitar Fest, Steve Flack has announced the Liverpool Academy of Music’s Guitar Camp to be run on Sunday 7th October at Balmain Town Hall. The Guitar Camp will feature guitar workshops implemented by the guitar world’s most accomplished players and tutors.

Focussed on the young gun players, The Guitar Camp is an ideal vehicle to assist, not only the young mid range player but also the young player at entry level.

Another event for the young and not so young player is the inaugural Guitar Factory All Genre Guitar Busking Competition. To be staged at Rozelle Markets over Sat. and Sun. of Guitar Fest, the competition offers substantial prizes including a Guitar and Guitar Packs courtesy of the Major Sponsor Guitar Factory.

The Best Guitar Player Competition is all set to happen at The Bridge Hotel on the arvo of the Guitar Fest Sunday. Proudly sponsored by Aust Guitar Magazine with a huge prize pack on offer, Australia’s Best Guitar Player invites all guitarist’s to strut their stuff in this exciting all genre guitar comp.

Then, besides these fantastic events, there’s the Guitar Fest entertainment @ The Bridge, Exchange, Cat and the Fiddle, Unity Hall Hotels and the Monkey Bar with hot guitarists ready to please the punters.

Support these venues supporting Guitar Fest Oct.1-7. October is Guitar Month in Sydney celebrating the guitarist and the guitar with a mix of Rock, Blues, Country, Metal, Jazz, Classical, Funk plus more.
