Steve Flack's Guitar Heroes Shows are becoming legendary events across Australia. From the Basement and Vanguard to the Espy, this fine performer takes time to salute the best the country has to offer in Guitarists - past, present and future.the blues, rock, classical and jazz players that we all crave.
An album inspired it all - Steve's self titled release last year (on Full House Records) delivered a collection of exciting collaborations of musical genius, featuring songs with Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Pete Wells (Rose Tattoo), Chris Bailey (The Angels, GANGgajang, Jimmy Little's band), Gordon Rytmeister, Ron Philpott, Ray Beadle and more!.
Steve's live shows have included Phil Manning (Chain), Phil Emmanuel, Dai Pritchard (Billy Thorpe's Band), Adam Pringle, Jim Kelly (SCRA & Crossfire), Dom Turner (Backsliders), Kevin Pratt (BB Steal/Black Label) and Joe Travis. Even Steve's backing band consists of renowned drummer Colin Burgess from Master's Apprentices, and Dave Pierce (The Saints).
The upcoming gig at The Brass Monkey is a unique YOUNG GUNS Guitar Heroes Show that will feature a collection of up and coming great guitarists, hand picked by Steve Flack from some of Australia's most promising bands:
- Dan Skeed from Urban Stone - Recent grand finalists in three major band contests - Global Battle of The Bands, Liverpool Idol and Clash! Urban Stone have worked with the likes of The Screaming Jets.
- Mark Ranftl from Optic Nerve - Previous national 'MusicOz Challenge' finalists 2 years running, as well as the winners of 2day FM's 'Battle of the Unsigned Bands'. Optic Nerve can be found regularly playing in many recognised venues around Sydney, and are about to release their self titled EP.
- George Ascencio from Soulfreecity - Will be launching their latest EP shortly, as well as appearing on the wonderful new TVS show 'Unsigned and Inspiring '.
- Anthony Noiosi from Illuminate Groove - 2005 Winners of Liverpool Idol, and the UTS round of Jim Beam's National Band Comp. Illuminate Groove are much loved for their dynamic live show as seen recently at the Annandale.
- Simon Allington-Lodge - Renowned Caringbah Music teacher from The Conservatorium Highschool.
The support at The Brass Monkey will be another interesting act - David Bova's The Cruise Missiles. This is the gig you'll be proud to say you attended in years to come!
